Rednal Hill Infant School & Nursery Class

Achieve, Believe, Create

Admissions

Admission applications usually need to be submitted by the December, prior to your child’s September start.

Details of the application process for Reception places are sent to parents directly from the admissions department of Birmingham Directorate of Children, Young People and Families. These need to be sent directly back to Birmingham Admissions or completed online at www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions.

Our school takes three classes of 30 children each year; 90 in total. We currently have a waiting list for places.

Names can be put down for the Nursery Class at the school office. This can be done at any time during the academic year in which your child becomes two years old. The academic year is from September 1st to August 31st.

Parents are very welcome to meet with the Head teacher or Deputy Head teacher to have a tour of the school. Appointments can be made via the school office.  During the Spring Term all parents whose child’s name is down to start school or Nursery the following September will be invited to visit.

If your child is joining our school mid-year then the school office will deal with all of the application procedure. If your child needs a place in another year group please contact the school directly.

Prior to starting school your child will receive a visit at home from the teacher and teaching assistant who will be in their class. This helps your child to get to know the important adults they will be seeing each day whilst in the familiar surroundings of their own home. Your child will also be invited to a Stay and Play session at school before starting school. Parents will be invited to an Induction Evening to learn all about our school and have the opportunity to ask any questions.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our school.
